HEy isiopropain is cheap I clean the mask, tube and container about once a week unless I have a cold. I use distiled water. I put some alchol in the water tank then run it into the hose grab it with a paper towel as it comes out the hose and wipe down the mask or pillow. I reassemble everything and leave the water tank dry. Turn on the machine and let it run for about ten minutes. NOT NEAR OPEN FLAME. Fill the tank and use it. It works for me . If only I could spell

Jean, if I don't light a book of matches in my dark bedroom, then how on earth am I supposed to tell when my CPAP hose is finally filled to the brim with kerosene???

Wow, I've learnt about so many new uses for my machine by reading this thread:

flamethrower
air pump
water pistol
adult bedroom toy
germ warfare weapon

any more suggestions??

Been on cpap for 2 years clean hose every 3 months if I remember, but I wipe the mask evey morning with non scented baby bot wipes and give it a good wash when I clean the hose, have had no ongoing skin problems. When I first used the mask it gave me some nasty scabs on the bridge of my nose - apparently this is where the blood flows least, took about 3 weeks to clear up and happily never returned.

Mask is Acclaim 2
No humidifier.

thank you, easy livin, i have been having the same problem, i've constantly got duo-derm on the bridge of my nose. my technition has told me, that the skin there will eventually toughen up to it, then the problem will be no more. im realy pleased i've read this, its given me a boost. i've been on cpap for about three and a half weeks now, so its not long is it realy? with anything new you get teathing problems, things take time to settle down, the same as something like cpap, takes a while, for the body to ajust, and an even longer time for the body to feel the total benifit. one of my therapists once told me, that it can take the body as long to repair as its been suffering, going without quality sleep in our cases, so we have to persiveir & be patient jean
