Pal Rider,
There is a difference! Denatured alcohol is ethyl alcohol that has been treated so that it cannot be drunk. Isopropyl alcohol (Rubbing) is a different type of alcohol and can cause problems to electric circuits. I'm basing this on over thirty years experience. If you want to use it on your stuff; have at it.

Re: SD card replacement
I am currently using an AirFlash Wireless SD card 16GB in my S9 for some time now. 16GB is over kill since it will never use that much data. As for details, I pull data from the card every couple days and Sleephead stores the details so it really doesn't matter if the detail is lost off the card over time. The sleep Dr when he looked at the card (used a normal card to show him) didn't even look at the detail info anyway, so that I just for me.
With some beta code, I never take the card out of the machine now, just pull the data wireless to my desktop and let Sleephead import the updated files found.
I know that palerider tried a 32GB SDHC card in his to see if it worked and he had no problems with it.

Re: SD card replacement
please provide citations for your claims, because my (admittedly less than 30 years of experience) research says otherwise.SGearhart wrote:Pal Rider,

you originally made the erronious claim that " as a last resort, rubbing alcohol. The rubbing alcohol contains a large amount of water is why it should be the last thing to use." when in fact typical rubbing alcohol has much less water (5-30% than the vodka (typically 60% water and other contaminants) than your preferred method.
second, isopropyl alcohol is SOLD as electronics contact cleaner, and electronics cleaner in general, and recommended for cleaning electronics.
thirdly, isopropyl alcohol can ALSO be denatured, though it's not typically called 'denatured alcohol' at that point.
as to whether your favorite, "denatured alcohol" would have anything harmful, who's to say... "Because of the diversity of industrial uses for denatured alcohol, hundreds of additives and denaturing methods have been used. The main additive has traditionally been 10% methanol, giving rise to the term "methylated spirits". Other typical additives include isopropyl alcohol, acetone, methyl ethyl ketone, methyl isobutyl ketone, and denatonium:"
much, though not all of the above comes from the chemists over at wikipedia. are they wrong?
