New mask/hose first kaiser appointment

Post by Nooblakahn » Fri Dec 05, 2014 11:47 pm

My meeting with kaiser to get set up with apria went well. The guy that saw me actually has sleep apnea... and while he didn't flat out say apria sucked... he gave specific directions for how to order.. to reduce the likely hood of them screwing up.

The airfit f10 sadly didn't fit my massive head.. but the mirage quatro air did.. so I left with one of those. Hoping that works well tonight.

He also said with me being a new member.. I'm eligible to recieve a new machine, and that they are getting the s10's shortly. Might have to look into that when the asv model comes out.

The wait may not be nearly as long as we thought. Looks like the AirCurve models are going to be released soon if not now already available in some areas. Will take a little while for the various suppliers to stock up (and they will probably want to push S9 models til that stock is gone if suppliers keep much inventory on hand).
The AirCurve 10 line is available Dec. 5 in the United States and Australia and will be available in Europe early in 2015.

Nice. That's good to know. Wonder if the air curve will actually differentiate between obstructive and clear airway events on their asv model. That's my only complaint with the s9

I don't know if they will add central detection or not. If I was placing bets...I bet they don't. Hope I am wrong.

what makes you think they don't?

given that they breath for you through a central event, and don't through an obstructive, that seems to be pretty good differentiation to me.

When you pull the data from a vpap adapt it only shows apnea.. Not clear or obstructive

I've got one here, I know the vpap adapt quite well.

it does flag obstructives, and if it's working as designed, you don't HAVE centrals.

The resperonics version does flash centrals. Seems resmed decided to not flag centrals as a marketing gimmick. By your logic I should be at 0.0 every night as it's also designed to treat obstructive.

if you're breathing, then, by *definition* you're not having a central, because that requires no airflow, and no effort to breath, yet, you're getting airflow, ergo, not a central.

and, while the 36037 responds to obstructives, and flow limits, and snoring, it doesn't respond to them before they happen, any more than any other machine can, ergo, you're may still have oa's and hypops.

stop being silly.

Okay dude. why does it offend you that I want a feature in a machine? Do you sell these for a living? I'm done with this. Have a nice life in your world where you are always right.

yur funny.

you're whining about wanting the machine to tell you "you were going to have a central, but I fixed it", yes?

I suppose for those that are ocd enough, that could be handy.

I'd *much* rather have a notice of non-patient triggered breaths in the data stream, and not just on the lcd.
