Oh No- Machine not writing to SD card?

Post by coolbranch » Wed Dec 03, 2014 7:54 pm

Quick checked the CPAP display this morning and read therapy hours and AHI. All looked correct compared to previous day sleep session. The problem is when I plugged in the SD card in computer and imported into Sleepyhead I get nothing.
Steps I took:
1. Formatted another SD card and inserted into CPAP and allowed time to export data to card. Seemed like it took longer than usual.
2. Inserted that card into computer and attempted to import into SH. Still nothing.
3. The CPAP machine display shows the previous nights sleep info but may not be writing to SD card.

Tried another card. Storage space on SD cards have plenty of space. I will try again tonight but could my CPAP machine stop writing to SD card. Has anyone had this problem?

Oh another observation, when checking the timestamp on the latest file on the SD card, the date is Dec 4. It is actually Dec 3 and the sleep session occurred beginning Dec 2, which would be the date I would direct to Sleepyhead.

Could it be possible that the CPAP machine has lost track of the date?

It's unlikely that the machine has lost track of the date. It has an internal clock with an internal battery and at most what happens is it starts losing time and not gaining.

Which SleepyHead version are you using and is it the Windows version or Mac version.

If you see a file dated 12/4 that is odd but if there is a file there the SleepyHead should find it..
How many files do you see in the P0 folder?
Tell me the steps you are doing when you import and what message are you getting...if any.
Sounds like SleepyHead is probably the one that is confused. If you could get me a copy of your SD card contents I can use my SleepyHead as well as Encore and see if anything is there. Easiest way is to zip/compress the entire SD card and upload it to some place like dropbox..or send it to me as an attachment in an email. If you want to use personal email...send me a private message and I will send you my private email address.

prs1 machines are set to GMT, so it probably already IS dec4th as far as the machine is concerned.

Looking at the p1 folder on the SD card, each date's import has a file extension of .001, .002 and .005 each with the identical dates and timestamps.

Last nights write to the SD card is interesting. The .001 and .005 files are dated 12/3/2014 and have timestamp of 11:07 AM but the .002 file is dated 12/4/2014 and its timestamp is 1:18 AM.

I scrolled back several weeks and last night is the only write to the card that is inconsistent with date and time. A glitch?

I am using the lastest beta of SH.

SleepyHead v0.9.8-1 (testing)

Build Date: Oct 3 2014 17:17:35
Revision: 4595153 (master branch)
Graphics Engine: OpenGL
Data Folder Location: C:\Users\wrsherrill\Dropbox\SleepyHeadData-Testing

I place SH in Dropbox so I can view SH on multiple boxes. Mark Watkins tipped me off that he does this.

Thank you for your help.

Exactly when are you removing the card from the machine?

Maybe I snatched the card too soon after turning off the CPAP this morning? Don't know how that would affect the timestamp. It certainly may affect premature import of the machine data. However, I took the card back to the machine this afternoon to try again. I also unplugged the CPAP for a while and tried to no avail.

There's nothing wrong with the machine.
I have your SleepyHead data in front of me and that includes last night and it is showing 12/2 as it should.
The one file with the weird date...I don't know why but it doesn't seem to be hurting anything.

All I did was unzip it and tell SleepyHead to go to the unzipped P-Series folder and it imported straight away without issues.
Everything is all there.

Sounds like SleepyHead needs to be told again where to find the P-Series folder or you are directing it too far into the folder...needs to be the P-Series folder...and don't do what I did a while back and try it with P series folder (without the hyphen) cause that won't work.

That data is dead on according to the CPAP machine display. Thank you so much for your assistance. Since it is bedtime and tomorrow comes early, I will have to tinker with it tomorrow. I will probably reboot myself and the computer and get everything corrected then. Talk to you soon. Thanks again!

Oh well. I imported Dec 3 (last nights) data into SH without a hitch this morning. Never was able to get SH to pick up Tuesday night's data. I have copy of SD card with all and up to Tuesday night and tried to pick up Tuesday night again. Sleepyhead message states it already has Tues night, but program will not show it.

I'll probably never know and chalk it up to a glitch and move on. It seems to be working now. Thanks for everyone's input.

Sleepmapper picked up the missing night from SD card but SH will not.

I suspect it is something you are doing. You need to tell us in detail what steps you take and when in detail.

Try creating a new profile in Sleepyhead and importing to the new profile.

I am using the same version of SleepyHead you are using and I have Win 7 on my computer...and it worked for me.
