Contec Pulse Oximeter - CMS50FW or CMS50IW

Post by Paralel » Sat Nov 15, 2014 12:23 pm

Does anyone know what, if any different there are between the CMS50FW & CMS50IW pulse oximeters, if any at all? The websites being written by people with English as a second language make it rather difficult to understand what, if any, is different between the two of them.

Any insight is appreciated.

the F only records one session, the I records multiple sessions.

newer F has date and time stamp, older F only time.

the w feature isn't very useful, imho.

Ah, Thank you, Palerider. It sounds like the I model is one step up from the F then, not to mention, one may get an older Model F without realizing it which would be very frustrating since I heard they made quite a few internal changes.

the functionality between the old and new f (one has a blue face, one a white, but I don't remember which is which) is the same, however, the way the communicate the data is completely different.

until a couple months ago, the older F was recommended if you wanted to use sleepyhead, because SH didn't understand the new data protocol.

after a few long sessions between myself, jedimark in australia and a guy in france, (with most of the clever stuff being mark and the guy in france) sleepyhead now fully supports both the new F and the I (and likely the H fingertip model) fully.

oh, the I also records the perfusion index, which I don't believe the F does.
