Since there's a Menards a block away (and we compare prices) we rarely buy anything at The Home Depot.grayghost4 wrote:you could also use "Home Depot" to get a new card

Re: Crapria strikes again... (issues with getting machine)
Why do they screw over patients with subpar service if they want to make money? None of it makes sense. And until it does, don't roll your eyes at me. I make no less sense than Crapria.LSAT wrote:Tatooed Lady wrote:Man...I'm glad I don't have Crapria...it sounds like a "bend over and grab your ankles" type of company. May as well just buy stuff out of pocket instead of dealing with them. Which is, I'm sure, what they would LOVE...high premiums, and no one using their coverage. Bastages.
You talk like Aprea is an insurance company...they are not...they are a DME. If you buy out of pocket, they do not earn any money. Why would they love that????

Not sure on the whole "miracle" thing, but apparently when they cancelled my order, they still actually ordered up the machine, so when they reinstated the order it was all ready to go. I have an appointment tomorrow morning to pick everything up and go through their class. Now I'm getting a bit nervous since this should actually be happening... no idea what kind of mask I need/want, how it's actually going to go... I know I'm psyching myself out needlessly, but it's hard not to.JeffV wrote:... unless some sort of miracle happens tomorrow ...

Re: Crapria strikes again... (issues with getting machine)
I no longer use Crapria. After I got my previous machine 6yrs ago, I stopped dealing with them. My new DME is pretty good but I really don't deal with them much either (1 visit to get my new machine)
This biggest thing about dealing with them is that the more prepared you are when you visit, the better off you will be. You should have a copy of your RX's, sleep study with you so you know exactly what they say.
If you are unsure of what type of mask you want or will work, let them show you as many as they have. Make sure you have plenty of time and that you are not reason for them to cut short the visit. A mask will most likely be the biggest issue you will have when you start cpap.
I'd take a voice recorder with me so what they say is recorded and they can't then go back and say they didn't say something. I've used this several times with Crapria in the past to my benefit as they clearly like to state things that later they will deny.

Re: Crapria strikes again... (issues with getting machine)
The crapria I fired informed me that they were no longer supplying ResMed machines,
And were moving over to only P/R supplies and machines. This was before i fired them.
--As if the cc# debacle wasn't reason enough! I feel for anyone "stuck" with them.

Glad to read that it worked itself out... Good Luck with the masks because every one is differernt and what works for one person does not work for another.JeffV wrote:Not sure on the whole "miracle" thing, but apparently when they cancelled my order, they still actually ordered up the machine, so when they reinstated the order it was all ready to go. I use Switch FX (medium if that matters) and I get anywhere from 3 to 6 months use out of a pillow. I spot check my AHI every other day or so, when it goes to 2 I rotate it out and replace it with one I used previously. When I see AHIs over 3, I finally have a burial service. In all, I have 3 pillows in my rotation. On a related note,Janknitz wrote:Swift nasal pillows don't last long. Medicare replacement is two per month. STOCK UP!!!
A year ago, I got fed up with Apria calling me all the time reminding me that I can reorder pillows, filters...et all. I opted out of their regular call back service and when (or if) I decide to order from them I will call them. It has been over 9 months and I have not had the need for any supplies. I get my filters from cpap.com and clean everything in vinegar and J&J baby shampoo. I have one new pillow left and a couple in my "bull pen" are nearing the end. I will have to give Apria a call soon and get some more. I am dreading that! Any bets, they 1) want a credit card, 2) try to force me to signup for auto replenishment and 3)give me a hard time because they have not been able to charge my insurance company for $$$ for an automated phone call.
Cheers,
-tino

Some people get long wear and some people do not with ResMed pillows. I found it varied and may have to do with where they were manufactured.Tino2You wrote:I use Switch FX (medium if that matters) and I get anywhere from 3 to 6 months use out of a pillow. Be sure you know how to check the run hours on your machine. Check it right there at Crapria BEFORE you sign anything accepting the machine. They've been known to foist off used machines on unsuspecting people. And they'll get all upset that you know how to check run hours. It will be fun to watch their faces.

Re: Crapria strikes again... (issues with getting machine)
Good point Janknitz, I'd forgotten about that. Can't be stressed enough they will sometimes substitute return and demo machines for 'new'. Especially disturbing and dishonest since so many machines are now 'rentals' of indeterminate length.Janknitz wrote: Be sure you know how to check the run hours on your machine. I like my ResMed AirFit F10 FFM - reasonably low leaks for my ASV therapy. I'm currently using a PR S1 AutoSV 960P Advanced. I also keep a ResMed S9 Adapt as backup. I use a heated Hibernite hose. Still rockin' with Win 7 by using GWX to stop Win 10.
