CPAP on Extreme Cheapskates

Post by Janknitz » Wed Oct 15, 2014 1:57 pm

OK, I'll admit that I watch a show on TLC. Not Extreme Cheapskates, though. But while watching a show last night I saw a promo for an upcoming Extreme Cheapskates. The promo featured a woman sitting on the side of her bed, wearing a CPAP mask hooked up to a little machine and saying "I saved myself $3000". Intriguing, no?

Some people here have gotten freebies or cheap used models at garage sales, thrift stores, or online, but I'm kind of curious now. If anyone sees the show, do tell!

Hey! I resemble that remark. No "freebies", but a couple were close.
Unfortunately, the chances of me seeing that show are slim and none. (but, you didn't mention when it would be airing)

Same here a Remstar Auto with humidifier and travel bag cost me $15 at a yard sale.
But the darn thing had about 840 hours on it. Perhaps I should have tried to talk them
down to $10

Woody,

I hope you don't mind if I thank you publicly for selling me that Pro 2 in February of 2012.
If you got as good of a deal on that one as the one you described here, I'm not complaining about the price I paid you for it. I still think it was a good deal. I've been using it all this year and really like it. It works great. Nice and quiet. It only had 3.2 blower hours on it, too.

Thanks again.

When my blower burned out, I found an even cheaper temporary solution (see picture). A trash bag stretched over a pedestal fan, with my hose taped through a hole in one corner. It worked. Barely. I got a new blower a few days later.
