I am going to get some and try it on my face mask - this post is so late (early?) in the morning as my ffm keeps leaking and I can't take it anymore!
will let you know how it works for the full thing!

I'm located in South Africa, and I'm having a devil of a time trying to find tincture of benzoin. Most of the pharmacists I've spoken to give me a blank look - even if I mention the term 'medical adhesive'.

I've only been using CPAP for about 2 weeks now, and I'm slowly settling in. I'm not happy with the mask I was given tho - F&P HC405 - I was having huge problems with leaks initially, but I seem to have (for the most part) sorted that out - as long as I remember to wash my face before bed. I think washing the cushion in Johnsons baby shampoo (the yellow stuff) has also helped the seal somewhat.

As an alternative, I'm going to get a Respironics Comfortgel as well as a Comfortfull full face mask for when I'm congested -- I tend to suffer from sinusitus.

I've had same results with local pharmacies - "No can get".
Re your wanting a full-face mask: You do realize that the larger surface area of the ff mask can lead to more leaks? - my experience anyway.

As an alternative to the Benzoin compound tincture, you could try the water-solubule stick glue. Hey, I've resorted to many a weird things, even taping the mask to the skin (didn't work). Hmmm I wonder if double-sided tape would help you? Usually, the more pressure (tighter you strap the mask), the better seal - if you don't care what you look like in the morning, or can tolerate the soreness. I even considered the 'tacky' stuff used to hold things to a wall, etc. By the time I rolled it to desired thickness, it was no longer 'tacky'.
I just thought of something that may be worth a try: it's used for sewing, and used as a temporary 'hold' when needing an exact placement. It is called "Aileen's Tacky Glue". It is water-solubule. I haven't used it in ages, but certainly worth a try.

Rubber cement? Where's a good chemist when ya need one????????
I know I've not been of much help, but just throwing out ideas; maybe one will help until you find the perfect solution. When you do, pass it along!!!

OK, now for a 'fun solution': You guys are lucky, you can always grow a beard and use Velcro Sorrrrrrrryyyyyyyyyy

I don't know why it is scarce (?) but it seems to be. I found it at Bruce Medical, not cheap, $12 for 4 oz, plus $7 s&h (usa): http://www.brucemedical.com/bentin.html

For the purposes you describe, that should last a l-o-n-g-t-i-m-e. Maybe it can double as Tacky-Finger when sorting and filing paper. (?) Or the pads on your cat's feet to get traction on wood floor. (?) (And I'm just getting started....)

OUCH .
Tried that, held the mask really secure. Almost went to work the next morning with the cushion still attached to my beard .

Hey, with the mask and that pistol, you could most likely get away with pretty much!!!
I put mine on while waiting in the Dr.'s office, put a few pens in the hose hole on top and was ready to "Make Her Day" ...then we talked about my depression ha ha

I don't know anything about full face masks so this is probably really out in left field, but have any of you tried the poligrip strips? I've been using them on my mouth with great success and absolutely no irritation. Your comments made me wonder if these might also work for strategic spots on your ff masks. I get them at Wal-Mart for about $4 a box which has 40 strips in it. The strips are about 1/4 inch by 2 inches and can be cut into shorter lengths if needed.
