what do mask abbreviations mean?
what do mask abbreviations mean?
My Activa LT is certainly not lighter than my old Activa, anyone know what the LT means? And FX? Anyone others? And why can't they put an abbreviation on each that indicates whether they are nasal, full face or nasal pillows, so you wouldn't have to wonder?

Re: what do mask abbreviations mean?
A FF mask will cover your mouth as well as your nose (except for the hybrid types such as Hybrid & Liberty), and a nasal mask won't. Pillows as well will be obvious and I can't imagine your needing anything written to tell the difference. You can find out what LT means by going to Cpap.com/masks and then the type (or mfgr name) of mask you have in the search bar.

I just look 'em up on cpap.com, that way I can see various pics and stuffherefishy wrote:My Activa LT is certainly not lighter than my old Activa, anyone know what the LT means? And FX? Re: what do mask abbreviations mean?
Probably same reason car manufacturers don't tell you the meaning of LS, LT, LTX.
But in the case of CPAP masks, I doubt LT = Less Turbocharger or FX means Face is Extra

Re: what do mask abbreviations mean?
Just recently, one manufacturer actually "got" it.
Resmed's Airfit line are (finally) names with some logic.
The P10 is a nasal pillows mask, the N10 is a nasal cushion mask, and the F10 is a full face mask.
The remainder is a vocabulary challenge.

Most of it is marketing BS, except ResMed's new stuff.
