I wrote an email to my Primary asking him if I can please receive a 20 mg Cymbalta script to wean down from my 30's, instead of going cold turkey off the 30's. He said, No, stick to our taper plan which is 30 mg every other day until next Tuesday; then every 3 days for 2 weeks, and then OFF. I hope he knows what he is talking about! I will stick to this plan, since he won't give me any lower doses from 30 mg.
He doesn't have a clue what he is talking about! Another clueless idiot!

Delighted to read that Dr. Pundy works in your building! Lucky Strike!

Thanks 49'er and ems. My Primary is a clueless idiot and why should I suffer because of him, when it may be too late?

Definitely not too late! I feel sure that Dr. P will suggest a more workable taper for you. Let us know what he suggests.

Thank you ems and 49er for giving me this information. Again, I usually listen to my Primary (although I have had falling-outs with him in the past regarding other milligrams of medication). He refused to give me 20 mg and wants me to get off at 30 mg, like falling from a cliff.
So I did get an appointment with Dr. Pundy on August 20th. It's not rocket science how to wean and taper someone off Cymbalta. But at least I will get advice from him and ironically I will be on that last poisonous dose of Cymbalta on that date.
Sleep is broken too but not because of Cymbalta. I will not take a "sneak peak" at the clock tonight turned backwards. I will keep you posted. Again, I can't tell you how happy that I am that I got all the help and when 49er told me of a Dr. Pundy; he works in the same hospital as I do. Only negative I didn't like to see, is that when I googled his name on Google, his name came up and had a lawsuit against him, I believe it was 1991, on having sex with one of his patients and she was suing or parents were suing. The verdict was against him and did not revoke his license but suspended him for a short amount of time. I was surprised to read this, so hopefully he is better at tapering doses of Cymbalta that with female patients. Thanks again, I will keep posted after my appointment on 8/20.

Oops on what you found out about this doctor. I obviously can't advise you on that. I suppose you could research it even further to find out exactly what did happen. Not everyone accused of something is necessarily guilty... altho I did read what you said about finding him guilty. Maybe others will chime in here.
