Unfortunately no one discussed anything with me. All I was told was "You have severe SA and your oxygen dropped to 85%, I'm scheduling you for titration."
I'm grateful to her because she was the first one to ever suggest a sleep study for my sleepiness but otherwise, she's fired!

Re: Still need help
I began taking Cymbalta a couple months ago. The doctor suggested I take it at bedtime, and I quickly noticed that I was having trouble falling asleep. My doctor insisted that had nothing to do with the medication . Yet I've had no problem falling asleep since I switched the medication to mornings.

Re: Still need help
I know that we all have our good days and not so good days and it takes time to get accustomed to the whole therapy thing. I'm only on my 7th week so I haven't paid my sleep debt by a long shot. But, it seems when my numbers look good I feel worse, so tired, just want to stay in bed all day. Maybe I should get an oximeter.

If your sleep data looks good and you have leaks under control then you should be feeling better. How much sleep are you getting every night? Are you getting 8 Hours or close? Is there a reason that you think you should get an oximeter? If you feel like you have something going on then you should get to your sleep doctor,..flyingwithoutwings wrote:I know that we all have our good days and not so good days and it takes time to get accustomed to the whole therapy thing. Re: Still need help
Slept 7:37 hours which is more than before CPAP. The reason I thought of an oximeter is because 02 was 85% during sleep study and 88% during titration. Thought maybe that might have something to do with my lack of energy.Bill44133 wrote:If your sleep data looks good and you have leaks under control then you should be feeling better. Re: Still need help
When you feel this tired do you ever go back to sleep a few hours later? I know I had days when my sleep data was good but I still felt awful and worn out.. If it was possible I
generally went back to sleep just for an hour or 2 and then most of the time I felt better. My neurologist didn't like that I was taking naps. She discouraged it.. The Encore reports told on me..
Looking back I may have been paying the sleep debt and my body was telling me it wanted more sleep. Lately, I don't feel the need for a nap and most mornings I awake feeling pretty well rested. I have just completed my 6th month of therapy the 1st of this month. I was diagnosed severe OSA with AHI of 140. I was never really sleeping and it was going on for along time. I could not drive more then 15 minutes without passing out at the wheel. Recently, I took a short trip and drove 5 1/2 hours without feeling tired.
I remember a doctor told my mother when she first got sick.. that she needs to listen to what her body is telling her.. If your tired go lay down.. Now, that I am getting older I often think of the advice the doctor told my mother.
Any way keep slugging it out it is worth every bit of the fight.

Re: Still need help
At first I wanted to just stay in bed but I didn't. I was tired all day but I made it thru even tho I didn't do much. I'm not giving up, I'm in this for the long haul. Maybe my thyroid meds need to be adjusted. Have an appt with my PCP on Friday.
