I wash mine Sunday morning, then shake it out.
By bedtime, I don't recall seeing more then a few droplets in it. Nothing that doesn't get blow out or dried up as soon as I turn it on.

Ive never washed a hose in the 5 years of CPAP. Took the hose cozy off the other day and the thing looks like new and smells fine too. Me thinks there's not much to worry over.

I wonder if they degrade faster with washing and that is why the DME pushes for weekly wash? My last one survived without being washed. I guess it is always blowing distilled water droplets and as long as the machine filter is clean then nothing should get in there? I'm sure our expired air is not making it that far. I do wash the short hose.

Frequent washing tends to degrade the materials,
increased handling causes tears and breakage.
Cleanliness to the nth degree limits DME liability. (a rhyme!)
And all this effort to help cover somebody else's tookus.
Does 'lazy' pay? Hmm, sometimes. . .

I think the way you do. I am almost on my first year completion with the same hose. Washed it maybe 4 times but think the stuff we breathe outside in the environment is worse.

Although you should always check the hose for any sight of a problem.

Sleep therapy changed my life for the better, never knew how bad it was before I got hooked to "the machine".
