Question Regarding The "Poll: Ban Who" Thread

Post by mars » Fri Dec 17, 2010 6:17 pm

Hi All

The question I ask is how come an original post and poll by AmyHarper now comes to "appear" to have been initiated by Julie.

Julie was the first responder. Then the AmyHarper post disappeared, but still left AmyHarper as the author of the Poll. And now I see that AmyHarper has been replaced as the author of the poll by Julie, so making it appear as if Julie was the originator.

Which she was not.

Yes, It probably was. But even after that post was gone, the poll remained together with AmyHarper as the author.

But when I logged on this morning (Australian Time), Julie had become the author.

Which is misleading, and could (in some circumstances) cause aggravation.

But the answer probably does lie in the software.

cheers

The angst over this whole chatroom thing is so thick you could cut it with a knife.

There are many things in life that I do not understand, but this one is so simple that even I know the answer. First, the post by AmyHarper was deleted, but since Julie had already posted to the thread, the thread and poll remained, with AmyHarper as the progenitor. Next, all of AmyHarper's posts, as well as the AmyHarper userid, were deleted by the admin (or m*d*r*t*r, if you prefer). That means that now Julie appears to be the author of the thread.

Please try to pay more attention.

It also appears Mr Earwig is gone from list of members and this post had 3 names with it - 2 of which are gone.

The 3 names are shown here:

I think they went down Mars' list, which is unfortunate, because the list was so incomplete.

But at least Mars list was a good start, now to keep it rolling, is the mission.......

Hi guys, and thanks for pointing out that I was certainly not the author of that one. Maybe it's time to put it to bed, if not to sleep. I should have tweaked to AH's name in there anyhow, but of course didn't and of course wouldn't have been so 'nice' about it!
