Where you attach the nosepiece to the stem on the headgear, where the two sides of the wires that come down from that point are, you take a twist tie and pull them a bit more together. This keeps the position of the pillows from moving.

I am going to look for the post. If I don't find it tonight, I'll send it tomorrow. I took my Lunesta over an hour ago and my pillow is calling my name pretty loudly right now. But I will look now because RG included her photo illustrations, too.

RnR...the twister tie, or piece of velcro, goes around the tubes where the red is shown in this pic:

Pulls the tubes closer together...consequently pulling the nasal pillows closer together, too. Can be that last (or first) little tweak that stops leaks. Can also make Large and Medium pillows work about the same for some people. (Me!)

Does this work with the original headgear. I don't feel the need to cut mine up.

Well, i almost made it back into Real Bedroom. But the Swift betrayed me.
I was doing fine for a night or two with the Activa and my 420E which is quieter than the Remstar that got me kicked out. But I couldn't take another night of Activa itchy nose syndrome so I rotated to my Swift, which I knew was pushing my luck because its noisier.

But what really did me in was that jet stream of air blasting straight at my wife from the Swift. What the heck were they thinking with that design?! Its fine and dandy if you are solo but super cooling your partners neck, especially if she has a cold is as suicidal as making a "creative suggestion" after 30 years of marriage.

If I rotate the barrel so that I don't blast her out, my nostrils would not make it through the night.

Swift.... a fine solo interface, but not too good with a partner if you ever turn towards them.

So what direction does the Aura blow the air? and how noisy is it compared to the Swift? I get the impression its a fairly noisy interface from what I have read. I may yet have to spring for one, out-of-pocket, to give it a try. Maybe I could quiet it down.......

Snork,

I think the volume of noise with the Aura depends on what pressure you're using. If I used Auto and set it for 7 and up, it never goes over 9 and stays very quiet (IMHO). If I use 10 straight CPAP, it's a bit noisier. I personally don't find the Aura noisy, but others do. And the exhaust blows directly up over your head, straight up from the bridge of the nose, which is great. No chance of hitting your partner no matter which way you turn, unless you decide to sleep below her, which would be a bit weird, no?

I think I just decided I like the Swift better than the Aura. I've been 100% compliant with CPAP now for probably around 6 weeks, but last night is the first night that I woke up and snatched the dang equipment off my face in a claustrophobic fit--the Aura. With a tie around my head mid-face to help keep it in place. I had slept really really well with it for several nights...but all of a sudden it GOT to me. So I put on the Swift and went right back to sleep thinking...ahhhh, what the heck was I thinking using the Aura? The Swift is perfect. No extra gadgets to make it work. Not as much gunk all over your face (touching it or not, lol). No claustrophobia.

I'll keep the Aura around of course and use it from time to time....but I think the Swift won out. At least right now.

Jan, whatever works for you. That is great that you at least have another interface you feel so comfortable in. That's what we've been saying for so long now, that no person's mask is right for everyone. It's all personal opinion. Glad the Swift works so well for you.
