It was very surreal, many hundreds of thousands broke down and out of gas on the side of the road. People sleeping in the emergency lanes. But no anarchy. Will be a great topic in the future. I dread the trip back when they let us. Have not heard if my house is holding up or not.
I'm sssso glad you're ok!! I saw the freeway on the news, it looked horrible

Yeah!!!! You made it!!! Phew...now I can breathe again.
Thank you so much for letting us know you're ok R&R....I was really worried about you.
Your comment about the ride being surreal, I don't doubt it! I watch the news and just can't comprehend what this must be like for those that are experiencing it. My heart goes out to everybody in this mess.
Take your time returning home (if you can).

Stay safe!
Amy

Glad you made it

I chose to ride it out and with God's Grace came out fine. No damage. A lot of wind and very little rain in Spring (North Houston). Hey RR people are supposed to return in stages and yours is set for Tuesday. Good luck on your return drive.

Joey, so glad that you made it OK....a little scary to ride out these hurricanes! Did you decide not to evacuate due to the traffice problems? Or you just felt your home was safe (which clearly it was)?

I knew that if I left I would have been riding it out on the interstate in a car and that was far more unsafe than boarding up my home and staying put. There was also the GAS problem and I didn,t think I would be able to get any once I got on the road. The other thing I thought of was Looters and I decided to stay home and protect my property.
