One point, cooling the water chamber, below the dew point of the room air, will make rainout (Water) on the outside of the chamber. The water will then drip into the HH plate (Electronics) where it can cause failure.

The best solution is to lower the room temp to the desired level with a A/C unit! I keep my bedroom at 66 degrees. (Only because my A/C won't go any lower) I also have stopped for the most part using any water in the HH, I just use it to quiet the air flow some. (Muffler Effect) Jim

Well, I don't want rainout! That's why initially I bought the hose cover but found I didn't need it for that. My rainout came about from my turning the dial up to 2, thinking I could heat the water more. Oops!

AC is not a possibility. Can't afford it and no place to put it.

Condensation on the outside of the water tank isn't the same kind of rainout -- inside the hose and mask. Though it is something to consider. Since I have an HC150, it shouldn't be a problem for me to not have it attached to the heating plate when I try this.

Which it looks like I will, because I just ordered a set of mini ice cube trays on eBay....I went this way because last night as I was getting ready for bed, the idea struck me...so I checked some online sites (the intent was Amazon.com, because I was planning to place an order later in the week anyways)...but, then when I was adding something I found last night to my watch list this morning on eBay...the price updated to reflect some kind of 10% off sale that is in effect right now. So, I went ahead and bought it.
