Respironics m bipap software
Re: Respironics m bipap software
There is no Pro Bipap in the M series. There had been in the Legacy (Tank) series (both a Pro - no good data - and a Pro 2 - good data). That chart linked is only valid for the M series.
I think people sometimes get confused on what people are looking for. Last night in chat someone was talking about going from cpap to apap and he was actually using a Bilevel machine. I explained to him why I was confused on what he was describing; he actually went from "regular" bilevel to the Auto Bipap.
The Pro M series is a CPAP which has data; it is the bottom machine "most" people here would want that Respironics makes. However, in this case, as well as the case last night in chat, the person is using a bilevel machine so everything changes.
AKCPAPGUY is also right that the Plus doesn't give enhanced data, just compliance data. I assume it is detailed in how many hours each night, not just how many night that there were 4 hours or more of use. The card module can also be used to change the pressure with a programmed card. It is a rather expensive to buy the smart card module for a Plus, buy the software, and to then discover that you don't get anything worthwhile out.

Yes it would be expensive, the M Series BiPAP Plus does not record ANYTHING to a card. The smartcard module will fit into the machine, but nothing will record on the card period, not even compliance data. Like I said in my previous post the only way to get the data is to read it off the LCD.

ah - this is even worse than the Plus CPAP - I had assumed it would record compliance data, but you are the expert in the field on this so I will accept your expertise.

Re: Respironics m bipap software
Nope no dice jules, just compliance. It does break it down into a 30 day average, but tha's as detailed as it gets. And like I said, you can only get that off the lcd screen.
Re: Respironics m bipap software
Hi
Thanks for the emphasis.. but my mistake, newbie here.. I miss posted it as plus when it is identified on the brochure that came with it as "Bipap auto M series Biflex"
Tonight I'll go home and check the model number that supports advanced data
BiPAP Auto with Bi-Flex DS700S, DS700HS X

Don't worry about it. We see that all the time.
It was a very informative thread with AKCPAPGUY's input and I learned something new from him.

Geez,akcpapguy1...issues much. I can picture you stomping your feet while you are yelling this.akcpapguy1 wrote:I will say it again, THE BIPAP M SERIES PLUS DOES NOT SUPPORT DATA COLLECTION VIA A SMARTCARD!!!! If your DME is telling you they are getting ANY kindof data off the smartcard from your BiPAP Plus M Series, they are straight out lying to you. The ONLY, the ONLY, the ONLY M Series BiPAP that supports data collection via the smartcard is the M Series BiPAP Auto. The only way your DME (or you for that matter) can get data from an M Series BiPAP Plus is to look directly at the machine and read it off the LCD screen. Or you could look at the screen yourself and “Phone in compliance” to your DME. That’s what the “*These models only offer phone-in compliance data” means on the graph in the link posted above from the Respironics website.

and what would be unusual about that?akcpapguy1 wrote: If your DME is telling you they are getting ANY kindof data off the smartcard from your BiPAP Plus M Series, they are straight out lying to you.
someday science will catch up to what I'm saying...
Re: Respironics m bipap software
I have to correct myself. I have the BiPAP AUTO not the PLUS. Guess that's why I have a Smart Card.
