Help!!! I'm becoming a CPAP evangelist!
Good work Congahands!
I know the feeling. In the three years since I was diagnosed, I have convinced 14 friends to have sleep studies. All 14 were positive for osa. 12 are currently using cpap and 2 have opted to continue to live a miserable, short life.
The 12 are telling other people so there is a multiplicative effect.
Based on latest studies, I am now encouraging simple snorers to get their issues addressed so they can maintain their IQs. And if the simple snorers are under 40, it is probably just a matter of time before they develop osa.

Be careful with the evangelist stuff. Too much of it can trigger the dreaded "CPAP Syndrome" (Continuous Preaching And Pestering).

Hey Guys, this is SO much fun! Who would have thought a few short weeks ago that I'd be laughing at this stuff! I was too busy crying. Don't know what I would have done without all of you. I know for sure me and hubby would have given up after the first week. My next goal is to be able to reach out to the newbies that are coming here for help and pay it forward, but I still have a lot to learn.

Its catching, isn't it?
Great to see your update there, Dori. And I'm so glad you've started thinking about yourself as well - sleep - good sleep - is necessary for everyone!

There's gonna be so many cpap evangelists that we'll need t-shirts saying "CPAP Convert" so time won't be wasted preaching to the choir!

I have an appointment with my Pulmonolgist on Monday. Someone explain the teflon tape on the elbow?
Most of us have learned that the white plumbers teflon tape is a life saver when masks an hoses leak. Some masks leak at the connecting elbow, some leak at other joints. wrapping the leaking area with teflon tape solves the problem. The same with small holes in the hose, just wrap a bit of the tape around the hose and it's sealed.

Just make sure not to seal off the vent holes, which are there for a reason! I think someone did that recently.
Also watch out for the emergency vent flap present in some masks.
Rested gal's labrat page has links to teflon-tape mods:
