After two nights on Auto BiPAP

Post by AdmiralCougar » Thu Aug 23, 2007 6:14 pm

So I could just Image the tech that talked my Pulmonology Dr. set my machine to Auto,
and properly fit me with a new mask. It's like sleeping with a whole new machine. I even woke up yesterday morning Singing. Image I can't remember the last time that happened. And though I haven't mentioned it before the last two nights have been the first time I've woke up with out a sore tummy from Aerophagia, except for the Sleep Study I didn't have a problem there either. So it may have been the mask, since I've changed to the same one I used during the majority of the sleep study.

My numbers went from over an 8 day period:
Average OAI: 17.6
Average HI: 4.6
Average AHI: 22.1
Average Vibratory Snore Index: 164
Average Max Leak: 94.0
Average 90%Leak: 68.8
Average Leak: 59.2
Average Large Leak 1.9 mins.
Average Time in Apnea Per Day: 20.3 mins.

Those are after the 8th day at pressure IPAP=22.0 EPAP=17.0 prior 7 days IPAP=20 EPAP=16
the 8th day
OA: 0.0
H: 0.6
VS: 8.0
AHI: 0.6
Average Leak: 61.99
so those averages are a bit skewed, but the leaks were still about the same...

To Over 2 days:
Auto Bi-Level Statistics
Maximum Titrated IPAP Pressure: 25.0 cm H2O
Average Device IPAP Pressure <= 90% of Time: 22.0 cm H2O
Maximum Titrated EPAP Pressure: 19.0 cm H2O
Average Device EPAP Pressure <= 90% of Time: 19.0 cm H2O
Average OAI: 0.3
Average HI: 1.0
Average AHI: 1.3
Average Flow Limitation Index: 1.5
Average Vibratory Snore Index: 19.1
Average Time in Apnea Per Day 3 secs.
Average Max Leak: 72.8
Average 90% Leak: 54.2
Average Leak: 43.5

The full two day report from Encore Pro can be found here

It seems my Wonderful tech really doesn't know how to stop Encore Pro from deleting information from the card so I don't have that info except printed and I don't have access to a scanner right now. I am waiting on a call back to him about hopefully getting it exported and either emailed to me or taking a thumb drive with me to get it on the 6th. The Clerk who took my message said that it should still be on their computer.

Sounds to me like the smart card has limited memory storage. How most of these things is that they delete the oldest to newest once the memory is filled up. Best thing to do is get one with larger memory capacity or download the data before it's deleted. To know for use I'd need to see what kind of smart card is it. I'd need to see the specifications. I'm no expert but I've been in the computer industry for almost 20 yrs.

What they need is to put the software in the hands of the patients, so it could be set up correctly, instead of having people who don't know how to read the cards do it.

The card can't be changed or subituted, one card works, period. The wonderful Tech needs to get his install disc, find the version number and come here for the instructions on how to set up "Do Not Erase". Jim

I mentioned the possibility of only being to hold a weeks data on the card and the Tech said he's seen the exact same cards as mine hold months of data. He wasn't sure if it would stay or not all he did was click the This Card Is Returning to same Patient button he didn't have the option clicked to ask to delete or not. I understand what he did wrong now that I have the card reader and was able to not delete my data off the card.

Now time for me to go off to night night...
