Chicago Granny, I thought I would need to jump through more Medicare hoops because my first (now dead and gone) machine was only 4 years old. The replacement I got has 17,000 hours on it and that's why I'd like to start the ball rolling for a replacement.

Last night I turned the humidifier up to 6. Oh boy. I woke up at 2 am with water in hose (because I'd turned down the temp). Once I turned it off all was well and now I know the humidifier is working.
After 4 years I finally know how the climate line hose and the humidifier work.

My s9 humidifier failed. A message on the machine states humidifier failure.
My first airsense 10 autoset worked for about 1.5 years and the tube heater failed (the machine not tube itself) no failure messages.
4 replacement maxhines all had bad heaters, no messages. No warmup, no humidity even at manual setting of 8, no tube temperature, no rainout, no humidity.
I have used every Resmed autoset made and this is a first for me. The heater plate never warms above 80 degrees F. Apria is more if a hinderance in this problem as the local branch doesn't havre anyone competent enough to look at the machine. I checked with a friend with the same machine. His warmup dosen't work either, however the heatet works in operation, again no error messages.
I need to get a competent technician to evaluate my machine. Apria refuses to even look at it.

What would you want them to do? DMEs can't afford to pay a CPAP technician to diagnose old CPAP machines.

This is a recommended repair service - https://acbio.com/cpap-repair/ .

Being that you have an S9 model, it is some years old, and it may make better sense to just replace it with a newer model.

Apria is not a repair facility..that's why they refuse to look at it. They are a group of salespeople. You need to purchase a new humidifier, send your machine to a repair facility or purchase a new machine.

A note here: most heating plates are operated intermittently, not continuously.
The plate may cool between "on" cycles.
This is normal.
