The Sprinkler in My Bed

Post by annie123 » Wed Nov 29, 2006 8:56 pm

Here's a CPAP funny...
I got up in the middle of the night to use the facilities and took my mask off. I left it on my bed (open side up) with the machine still blowing. When I got back, I discovered that it was spouting water like a sprinkler. (The humidifier had accidentally been turned up to 5 and I had some serious rainout.) I managed to chuckle, shake my head, shake out the mask and go back to sleep with no problem.

I woke up recently with water drops spraying from the exhaust port. That was a surprise!

Both those things used to happen to me. And gurgling sounds inside the main air hose. And water dropping on my face from inside a nasal or FF mask. And water rolling into my nose with nasal pillows. All those things, even with hose covers, until I got this several years ago:

heated cpap tube from http://www.sleepzone.com.au

No "rainout" for me since then.
