I've been looking at taping and chin up strips came up. What are your impressions?
I had duct tape in the garage and it is working perfectly.
I am waiting arrival of my ordered Goldstream DeepSleep, and will try it. i would prefer it for being less startling to my wife.
If it doesn’t work as I expect it to then I’ll eventually try 3M Microcell tape for less residue issue.

Chin up strips: Application is simple--just channel your inner bulldog, and pull the lower lip up
until opening your mouth is possible, but awkward.
They are expensive (one-use), but I used my DIY strips until my mouth was adequately trained.
Way preferable to a chin strap, cooler than a foam collar.
WalMart/Costco, etc. need to bring in a knockoff that is more affordable.
I would still be using them, but . . . Money, time, etc.

Arrived. I have my doubts as it is not so thick or substantial as I expected, indeed, quite flexible. We shall see - later.

I remember a story about someone who vomited while keeping their mouth shut.
I remember a story about someone who read something on the internet and believed it.
I Had a teacher back in high school who cautioned us not to try and supress one's need to vomit. He had ruptured his own esophagus doing this and thought it serious enough to mention to it to all his students at some point. Ruptured esophagus. It happens.

Speaking for myself, I've never been *able* to suppress one's need to vomit... it's always come out whenever it wanted to.
I'm skeptical of stories such as that one, because the internet, (and previous communications mediums) have always been rife with shocking stories that are fabrications, lies to children, or just misunderstandings of facts.

Suppressing vomit has always left me with the lovely gift of a mouthful of tummy-juice.
