I started with 3m durapore, then switched to the micropore. With the micropore, I use water in the morning to take it off, then use a strip of other tape to get the remaining glue off--otherwise the remaining glue follows me around all day, and gets in odd places.

Are you single?
No, sorry... but I will use my wife's lipstick. Will try to apply it also on top of the tape, just in case I meet someone on the bathroom trip.

I want to try taping. Exactly where do you put the tape? Side to side and completely tape it shut? I saw a picture of one taping from top to bottom with just one strip of tape, leaving the sides untaped. Just under the nose down to the chin?

Recently I've been attempting to move away from my F20 and have started using my N20 again. Major mouth leakage has been a problem in the past with the N20, but I love the comfort of the mask. So far I've tried a chin strap which I dislike, and I have a cervical collar on order from Walmart.

Last night I decided to try taping for the first time. I used a cloth tape (about 1 in. wide) from Walmart (Equate) that I had on hand from a previous burn injury. It had been used to keep gauze pads in place. For the most part, the tape worked very well. It did eventually pull away from the the corner of my mouth, but that may have been because of the narrow width of the tape.

I had the best single night of cpap since starting 5 months ago. My AHI was 0.24; I only had one large leak (3.22%) that lasted for 15 minutes; and I had O obstructives and O centrals. I realize that this was only one night, but I'm encouraged about the tape. Can anyone tell me how this particular tape (cloth for bandages) compares to 3M Microfoam and 3M Micropore? As you know, Walmart often has comparable items in their Equate brand but they don't mention anything about that with the tape I used. Also, what width of tape do you find to be most effective?

This seems to be a question of individual preference. Personally, I tape across, completely covering the lips. Before applying the tape, you may want to fold under one corner to grasp when removing the tape.

When I taped I did like CG...horizontal strip just past the corners of the mouth.
When I tried it I didn't even know about horizontal strip so never thought about it. Kinda wish I had now but not enough to try it.
I would suggest try both and see what the results are and see if you prefer with one way over the other.

I also tried the Polident stuff...sticky enough I suppose but tasted like horse poop.

I was el cheapo..used blue painters tape because I had some left over from a painting job. It worked well enough for me..and I could open my mouth with minimal effort if I needed to. I didn't want something setting up like cement.
It didn't harm my skin either but I do realize that not everyone is that lucky.

I believe you mean Poligrip, but yeah, it doesn't sound tasty.
