buying used cpap

Post by Sunshine on Georgian Bay » Sat Aug 26, 2006 10:03 pm

I'm a new cpap user, and am doing just ok - every night is different, so I think I haven't stabilized yet (6 weeks now)

I'm wondering though, if it's possible to buy a slightly used cpap (I was thinking of the Breathex for camping) from someone who has purchased it, but is not using it for some reason. Is that something people can do on this forum???

Thanks in advance !

It would probably be hard to find, seeing as the market share would be low for a specialized machine. Jim

Try Yahoo Auctions, type in CPAP and see what they have.

But you probably need to research and know pretty much what you want.

I needed a small nebulizer, so I researched and found an Omron smaller than a pack of cigarettes. $375 new. shopped and shopped...got it for $204.

Now I can drive along and use it as needed. don't have to find AC power or anything.

You might do better (cheaper) if you find an inexpensive AC powered unit, the buy an inverter to run it on. Unless you are backpacking away from your car and humanity.

Good luck and stay flexible..

I have Encore Pro 1.8.65 but could not find it listed
under software.

I LOVE the SV.

Sunshine, since you mentioned camping, you might find some of the discussions in the topic linked below interesting:

If there is a specific machine you're interested in buying, it doesn't hurt to start a topic on the message board stating that you're looking for a used "____." Maybe you'll be lucky.

It might help if you register on this board, so people could send you private messages, if they'd rather.
