Aflex question

What does the AFlex menu setting mean? It is set at 2. What would be the need to change. So far I don't think I have any issues other than I am trying a new mask soon. My machine is set 8cm to 14. AFlex at 2. The humidifier I have at 3, but still get dry mouth at times n

Aflex is a feature you set if you have trouble exhaling on Cpap... if you don't need it, turn it off.

This link will help to show you how Aflex works to shape the flow to mimic more natural breathing. It is a comfort setting that you can experiment with to see what is more comfortable. http://www.healthcare.philips.com/main/ ... /aflex.wpd

Dry mouth indicates you are breathing through your mouth. Are you tracking your therapy with Sleepyhead?

Ty everyone. I will download the sleepyhead. Also I use chin strap and it seems my mouth is dry or hurts when I wake up, but only for a second or two. I wonder if its because my mouth is closed all the time with a strap and it's more a stiff feeling inside.

There are different chin straps out there, and you want to be careful not to get TMJ problems or something if yours is too tight. Have you ever considered a soft cervical collar that would keep your head up and airway more open, while also keeping your mouth closed?
