Automatic Oxygen machine dispenser
Automatic Oxygen machine dispenser
Anyone know if there is an oxygen machine which will dispense oxygen at night if your blood oxygen level falls below a certain point rather than a continuous flow? If so what is it called and where can one get one?

I suspect the thought that it is better to have and not need than to need and not have is a strong argument for continuous supply.
Besides, the liability issues of a demand only system would be too daunting for any would-be developer.
But crazier things do exist!

Kind of like automatic false teeth, in case you want food in the middle of the night, and your daily set are soaking!

they hook up in line with the cpap to supply oxygen if your levels drop at night. I know this because i used to work in that field.

Im sorry, you ment automatically give u air when needed, then no. However I would suspect IF your oxygen levels go up and down at night , you should prob be on a low liter flow maybe 1 or 2 at night with your cpap.

My thought is that an on demand system may not be fast enough.
Better to have the oxygen right there, in your next breath, not ten feet away, traveling through a tube.

yes exactly, the liability alone would kill a company trying to make anything like that.
Re: Automatic Oxygen machine dispenser
It's actually a pretty good idea in some ways. The trick is finding a good way to monitor oxygen on a continuous basis. We do have pulsoxes, but they're not really that good for every night usage.
Unfortunately, I haven't heard of anyone making such a gadget.

They don't even do anything like this in a hospital setting. Your o2 is monitored, and if it drops below a threshold an alarm goes off and the settings are manually checked or adjusted. No automatic adjusting device.
Most o2 sensors have an alarm you can set for that as well.
