the guy you're replying to took the short term savings over long term expenses, if he uses it regularly, he'll end up spending more buying batteries for that one, than if he'd spent more and bought one of the rechargable models.

keep that in mind when you go to select one, (I've got the cms50i) (and used to have the one he bought, but it really does gobble up batteries)
I don't buy alkalines, only rechargeable Eneloops, and I don't think that I'll be using the 50D Plus much, once its novelty wears off and I have the information that I need.

You can use the regular software that comes with the pulse ox if you want to.
Since your machine won't work with Sleepyhead you might as well just use the software that comes with it.
No real urgent need to mess with SleepyHead if you don't want to. The main idea behind using it with Sleepyhead is to maybe correlate desats with apnea events flagged by the machine.

FWIW...I opted for cheap too ...I got the 50 D Plus because I figured I wouldn't be using it very often and I was right...twice and O2 was normal both nights and I loaned it out to someone who eventually just bought it and I haven't missed it.

Will do, Pugsy! Hopefully, software that comes with the 50D Plus will be adequate.

Going to do first night of monitoring with the CPAP set at 12 cm, the recommended setting, see if there's any similarity to the sleep study.

I should think 02 might be higher than the supine recommended setting at 12cm because I sleep mostly on my left side. We shall see.

Has anyone used SleepyHead with just a pulseox, no CPAP? I presume it would work, but it would be good to verify.

I think Pugsy answered the question as 'Yes', but it's not necessary to do so, and impliedly EASIER to just use the software that comes with the pulse oximeter.

When I used SleepyHead with my 50 D plus it was a little more work to get the data to show up in SleepyHead but I think it might be easier now. It was an older SH version that I used back then.

The software that comes with the pulse ox is more than sufficient to see what you want to see.
I think there are some examples at the website where you ordered it.
SleepyHead doesn't show you anything you can't see on the other software...all SH does is let you see how any changes in the oxygen levels or pulse rate might correlate with the SH data.

I have the CMS-50E oximeter, this one:
http://www.coopermedical.com/overnight- ... meter.html

At least it looks exactly like this one. It doesn't have any writing on it to identify it and I don't remember exactly where I bought it. (somewhere on line). I never installed the software. I bought it last year when I had pneumonia and shortness of breath, and haven't used it at all since I got better. I don't think I ever used it overnight.

I'm wondering what I would do to get data from it to Sleepyhead, and how Sleepyhead could sync up data from Autoset F10 with data from the oximeter. Or do you just start them at the same time?

Thank you so much! You bug me! Must be due to an earlier post of mine! Too bad, man! Are you always so obnoxious and cynical, acerbic, sarcastic and nasty? Can''t stand your posts. Overall, they seem very 'negative' to me, even if accurate. It's the way they are presented here.

anytime.

I also wanted to point out, though you probably won't see it, that I said "good luck" and pointed you to a link why I think you'll need it. meaning, 'I hope you have better luck than this guy" but you chose to take it all negative... *shrug* no skin off nose.

I have. I created a separate user profile and played with importing both from the files and directly from the CMS50i. I wanted to know if I could concatenate separate data logging sessions into the same day. It works!

I did a lot of importing unrelated spo2 sessions into SH while doing the testing... it was pretty happy about accepting whatever was thrown at it by the time mark fixed enough stuff that I quit griping about this or that. *lol*
