I Slept A Whole Night! and Cervical Collar Question

I've struggled with finding the right mask for years. My bedside drawer was better stocked than most DMEs. When I decided to try again I was limited to the gear my husband used, a nasal pillow mask. I thought there's no way I can do this as I've failed with both chin straps, tape and chin-up strips. I tried anyway and the first 2 nights were a disaster. Last night I changed the pillow size and used a soft cervical collar. I slept a little over 7 hours and had one OA. I did take off the mask for about an hour but I put it back on for the rest of the night. This was the best sleep I've ever had on CPAP! I do have a question anout the cervical collar. Is it used nightly or until you train your jaw?

You use it nightly. You're not going to 'train' your jaw (or neck)!

Congrats on the sleep!! I bet you feel much better!! I have not used a cervical collar so someone else will have to chime in on that!!

Unfortunately for me, the cervical collar did not work and only gave me a horrible neck ache. Wish it would have worked. My bag has more "stuff" in it than the DME also supplies!

I started using a cervical collar three nights ago and it's magic. My leak rate has dropped like a stone.

I didn't see the improvement in flow limitation that I expected, but it's definitely improved my quality of sleep.
