Hi - what machine (full name & model #) do you use, and which mask - full face or nasal only?

This video from our sponsor will help you identify if you have a Series 50 or Series 60 Phillips respironics system one:

They have different humidification options. Once you know exactly what machine you have, update your profile:

The model number on the Phillips Respironics machines is on the bottom of the blower unit. Usually a little silver sticker with the 3 digit model number and DS, REF or P maybe in front or behind the 3 digits.

Tell us the 3 digits and we can tell you what model it is.

Regarding your mask...if it covers the mouth and nose it is a full face mask of some sort and there a long list of those type of masks.
Usually the mask manufacturer and model is somewhere on the mask and for sure is listed in the paperwork that should have come with the mask.
If you can't find the name or the paperwork you might take a stroll through here to see if you spot it.
https://www.cpap.com/cpap-masks/full-face-cpap-mask.php

The dry mouth issues are a common complaint from cpap users and using a full face mask with humidified air doesn't always fix the dry mouth. The dry mouth is from mouth breathing and some people just find that their mouths dry out easier than other people for any number of reasons.
You might be able to help reduce the dryness with more humidity but there is no guarantee that the humidifier can adequately rehydrate the mouth because the oral cavity is just so much larger than the nasal cavity which is what the humidifier was really designed for.
Ultimately the mouth breathing needs to be reduced to have much reduction in dry mouth issues.

Hello and welcome to the board. Lots of great advice can be learned here from others experiences. You can also try using Biotene mouth was before bed that might help with the dryness. Not 100% always successful but it worth a try

Which 60 series machine? What are the 3 digits that make up the model number? And what humidity setting right now?
And do you have a heated hose or regular hose on it now?

The heated hose has a black coupling where it attaches to the humidifier and the regular hose just has plain white/gray couplings on both ends.
Having a heated hose would open up your humidity options but there is another option if you don't have the heated hose now.
You can switch it over to Classic Mode and it will deliver more humidity.

Amara has been noted to leak more than some other masks, and that may be happening with yours.

Go here and request the provider/clinical manual for your machine.
http://www.apneaboard.com/adjust-cpap-p ... tup-manual
Instructions on how to request it are down near the bottom of the page. Your 560 machine...this is what you will need to request...

This doesn't make any sense. The choices for humidity are numbers 1 through 5 if you don't have a heated hose and if you do have a heated hose then the numbers on the machine for humidity are for hose air temp and the actual humidity setting is done in the clinical set up menu and the choices are 1, 2 or 3.
That's why I asked you which hose you were using...so we would know which way to go with the settings to maybe add more humidity.

Get the manual and read up on your machine's features so that you thoroughly understand your options and have a better chance of possibly reducing your issues.
If you are using a non heated hose at a setting of 1...if you increase the setting to 4 or 5 it might help the dryness a little...you could also switch to Classic mode which would deliver even more moisture but increases the chances of annoying rain out happening.
If you are already using a heated hose then you need to figure out exactly what the humidity setting is and you have to get into the clinical setup menu to do that.
If your machine isn't already setup for a heated hose (needs a special lid on the humidifier and an 80 watt power supply) you might want to consider upgrading it to a heated hose machine because more options will be opened up to you.

Are those numbers from the bottom of the humidifier? I think what people are trying to get at is if you received the humidifier capable of having a heated tube or not.

This humidifier is capable of having a heated cpap tube:

https://www.cpap.com/productpage/pr-sys ... ifier.html

Note how there is an electrical connector above the air outlet for the humidifier - does yours look like that? Does the tube have a connector on it that plugs in there?
