anyone else lost the "function" to delete spam

Post by snoozie_suzy » Tue Aug 01, 2006 8:16 pm

I was wondering if anyone else doesn't have the tab to "delete spam" next to the "quote" tab? I was able to delete spam for like two weeks now, and then the past two days the button has disappeared at the top window of everyone's post. I wonder if this is an issue regarding my PC like maybe a Window' IE thing, or if I'm being punished for deleting a post by accident that wasn't spam

Hi Suzy.

You SHOULD be able to see the "Delete Spam" button IF you're logged in.
If you click it, you'll get a couple of "buttons" that come up next to let you verify if you REALLY want to delete it as SPAM, or not.

Are you sure you were logged in when you DIDN'T see it?

Best wishes,

Den

Hey Den!

Hope you're doing well. Is it 100 degrees where you are like it is here? Arrgh.

As far as signing in,yes thanks for the heads up, but I have it checked off to "automatically" sign me in everytime, and yes right now I am even signed in. And for instance at the top of your post there should be the option "delete spam" and "quote". The only tab is "quote". I emailed the Forum Admin. I had the button a few days ago, and deleted a few spams, but the past two days, nada.

Thanks for the reply, hope your catching your zzzzz's!

Suzy

Suzy,

Yep! Doin' pretty good. Our heat wave broke yesterday 7/31. And I mean the temps REALLY dropped......about 20 degrees.....even cloudy and getting some much-needed rain (well, scattered showers, anyway). It's GREAT!

Have you tried NOT using the auto-login?
Cleaning out "Cookies" and "Temporary Internet Files"?
Is your computer on ALL the time?.....or do you re-boot occasionally?

(bear with me.....I'm trying to think of as many things as I can)

In the mean time, we'll try to delete your share for ya.

They say the cold front is headed your way, so hang in there. In a few more months, we'll be wishing for a little more warmer weather.

Hope everything's well with you.

Best wishes,

Den

Den,

Isn't global warming grand? Seriously, I have lived here more than 3/4 of my life, (very early years in southern CA) but I NEVER remember summers ever getting this hot. And not only the intense heat but how early they are coming now. Kinda scary. We never used to have our Air conditioners in our windows in May, and the past two Mays we have had temps in the high 80's as early as May.

I have done what you suggested, no change. I even checked this forum from my work computer (which is public) and signed in and everything and still didn't have the icon up top to delete, which, since its a public computer and not my harddrive, makes me wonder if I am being punished?
hee hee.

Oh well, hopefully Admin will email me back. Its not like I "have" to have that function, there are definately more important issues in life than deleting spams, just curious why it suddenly stopped though.

Stay cool, hope everyone else in this forum is keeping cool too, I guess its heatwave city across the US. They say tomorrow up to 115!! Hopefully no blackouts.

Take Care!
Suzy

spammers

Post by tomjax » Wed Aug 16, 2006 4:42 am

Good morning all,
Just got up and went spam hunting.
Got a bout 5 or 6 and now the board is reasonably cleared.
The questions remains, is zapping spam and comments such as this also spam?

I am working on an e-bomb to deal with such. It will be returnes to spammers and other stupid people and blow up their computer.

This will help almost as my dehydrated instant water invention.
But I have a real life. I must get back to the Britney spears video and the latest on Angeline and Brads baby.
Someone please delete this as spam.

I hope I don't get my Spam gun revolked, I just clobbered 4 that were descized at guest post, but were in fact just links to a web search and drugs. They are getting sneakier, but they ended up back in the can. Jim My dogs eat good today!
