Need Tips on How to Shrink Airfit P10 Headgear

I've only been using the headgear for two and a half months. I've washed it in warm soapy water and air dried it. One of the bands is quite stretched and won't bounce back. Compared to a new headgear it is looser. My leak rate is up so I am doing everything I can think of to reduce it. A new headgear helped somewhat but the headgear is supposed to last six months not a bit over two.

I suppose if I'm going to throw out a headgear due to being too loose there's no harm in putting it in the dryer. Any suggestions?

I washed/rinsed mine in really hot water by hand and then air dried it for a long time....then finally just tossed it in the washer and dryer when I couldn't get it to bounce back by hand. The dryer gave it some more life.
I got a lot more than 3 months of use though by the time I had to try the dryer trick...more like 9 months.
How often have you been washing yours? I was originally just washing maybe once a month.

My thoughts...if it is useless without a trip through the dryer...it sure won't hurt to try it to see if it helps give it some more life.

Wash and rinse it in hot water, then, instead of wringing it like a dishrag, (stretching = bad)
roll it in a dry towel, and step on the towel to squeeze out excess moisture.
Allow it to finish air drying.
If you need extra tension, it is possible to thread narrow elastic through the knit tubing
and tack stitch through all fabric layers. (Use the little hole at the end to get the elastic inside.)

I don't wash it very often, maybe once every month. I just tried washing it in hot water, placing it in a towel and stepping on it to partially dry, and now it is drying flat on the bathroom counter. Hopefully it will make a difference.

Thanks for the tip. If it comes to that I will look at the local sewing store and also look for skinny elastic.
