For Sale: Resmed S9 Autoset CPAP w/Heated Humidifier

Post by DaveInGA » Tue Feb 24, 2015 2:50 pm

Several months back, I was diagnosed with sleep apnea. It turns out I was improperly diagnosed and that my problems were related to allergies and swelling of the nose/throat areas, so once that was addressed by an allergist/ENT Doc, I no longer needed my CPAP machine. I kept it for a couple extra months to make sure and am now satisfied I'm "fixed" as I'm going to be and I'm sleeping normally again. So I'd like to get this machine in the hands of someone that can use it.

Full disclosure: I purchased my machine (A Resmed S9 Autoset w/5i Heated Humidifier and both Climatine/heated hose and standard non-heated hose) from Secondwind CPAP for $569.00 shipped to me. I bought a second, brand new Resmed water tank (still in package), a set of 5 filters (for the back of the machine), a new SD Card and used the machine around 5 times total, less than 5 hours each time. It had about ten hours and looked like brand new when I got it and it still does, as I took excellent care of it. I received a second SD card from Secondwind CPAP. Total hours on the machine is less than 25.

I'm a Respiratory Therapist and I cleaned the machine, all tubing and tanks using the heavy duty wipes we use in the hospital to sterilize and then cleaned again with spray cleaner and paper towels. The machine is ready to use out of the bag, just add a mask and you're set to go.

Here's what's included:

Lightly Resmed S9 Autoset with 5i Heated Humidifier
Power supply and cord
Standard 6' hose
Travel bag
Instruction Manuals (User manuals, though I can provide a .pdf file of the technical manual if you need it via email.)
5i water chamber very lightly used
5i water chamber, new in bag
Climatine heated hose, 6'
5 new S9 filters for the back of the machine
1 Resmed SD card
1 aftermarket SD card

The extra items in red above cost $63.00 from Secondwind CPAP. I am including them at no charge. My price shipped for everything is $569.00 shipped to you.

Additional Comments: Numbers looking good, but sleep time is not increasing, likely due to mouth breathing on nasal mask.

Missing info... number of blower hours. You going to provide service and support along with a warranty like SecondWind does? Or is your price "AS-IS".

My opinion...Your price is about $200 too high. Several people on this board have purchased S9 Autosets for $200-$300. I purchased mine about a year ago for $300 with 1000 hours on it. Secondwind sells the S9 Autoset for $479 with a warranty.

Since it still has such low hours, perhaps you can sell it back to Second Wind? Or find out how much they will give you for it, and then raise the price a little bit for sale here. Unfortunately one of the biggest benefits of buying from Second Wind is that they offer the warranty on their used equipment. Without that warranty (and I assume that it is not transferable) you are looking at a pretty significant decrease in value.
