CPAP Survey- Please participate!
CPAP Survey- Please participate!
Hello!
We are a group of students from the University of Washington, Human Centered Design and Engineering undergraduate program.
We're currently working on a project to research and discover the motivations and goals of CPAP machine users.
Our goal is to create a tool that will help CPAP machine users view their data in a useful, meaningful, and effective way.
We'd like to invite the members of the CPAP community to participate in a brief survey to help us continue our research.
It should take less than 5 minutes and your feedback will greatly improve the quality of our research.
The Google survey can be located here: http://tinyurl.com/lbjsu8y
Thank you in advance!

Hi - did the survey, but felt the responses on the last pg were repetitive, so only answered once for those.

Re: CPAP Survey- Please participate!
It is a bit repetitive, and the check list did not show central apneas.

my thought, while going through it was "do these people know anything about cpap, or is it just a term they've heard".chunkyfrog wrote:It is a bit repetitive, and the check list did not show central apneas.
Get OSCAR
Accounts to put on the foe list: dataq1, clownbell, gearchange, lynninnj, mper!?, DreamDiver, Geer1, almostadoctor, sleepgeek, ajack, stom, mogy, D.H., They often post misleading, timewasting stuff.

Re: CPAP Survey- Please participate!
From the way that the survey is phrased, I'm going to guess that they're interest is in developing a competitive product to Sleepyhead.
My suggestion. Don't do it.

They are students, and having no idea what the class is supposed to teach, I have no clue how they will be graded.
Application to "the real world" is probably inconsequential, as our opinions don't really matter to the decision makers.

Why not? More options is a good thing. And the HCDE is a real place: http://www.hcde.washington.edu/Dogjudge wrote:From the way that the survey is phrased, I'm going to guess that they're interest is in developing a competitive product to Sleepyhead.

Re: CPAP Survey- Please participate!
Hello! Thanks to those who've already participated! You're FAST!
So, a little bit more about the survey...
We're actually researching CPAP data from a human centeredness perspective... You, the user.
Not everyone understands what all of our CPAP data means... and likewise... Not everyone is interested in the same data points.
What is important is what matters to you? That said, we're interested in researching how to make the data more meaningful by using data visualizations that make the data usable.
We're not interested in making value judgements on which data is better than another. If you feel the data is important to help you understand your sleep patterns, then we want to see how to make that information useful visually.
Thanks so much again for the feed back and participation.

I completed it. Did not seem repetitive to me.
SleepyHead works fine for me. I know some people have a problem with data and analysis. Maybe anything beyond AHI/leak icon on the machine display is too much for them?

Re: CPAP Survey- Please participate!
Pretty straight forward.
Doesn't cover Central Apnea.
Doesn't ask if I want a DNR feature. (Only kidding folks, but always amazed how often I stop breathing). With Parkinson's just grateful everyday I walk up to enjoy the sunshine. Yep, perspective on life changes as today is the best day you're going to have.
