bipap machine question
can anybody tell me if I you can use a bipap machine as a cpap machine would there be a setting for the machine that can be switched from Bipap to cpap if my doctor wanted to switch the setting

It depends on the model, however both the Respironics BiPAPs (660, 760) have a CPAP mode. It is the first setting in the clinical settings. The 650 and 750 also have CPAP mode.

You can "dumb down" most or all the machines to simply be CPAP. It doesn't work the other way, though. So, yeah. You should have no problem using a bilevel as CPAP...not sure why you'd want to, but that's up to you.
