Cpap Data Collection Nightly vs Napping
I laid down this afternoon and took a 2 hour nap today. I just learned how to access my info on my machine. I was curious so I checked and it said my AHI was 19.1..... I was told it's best to keep this number under 5. Is this normal?

No, should be under 5 for proper therapy, but without more info the rest would be guesses.

We're you napping on you back? Most people have higher AHI numbers on their back because gravity pulls your tongue back and tends to close your throat or airway. most Apnea patients find that side sleeping is more conducive to haveing fewer apneas/hypopneas. Get more mask leaks on back as well. Just thought I'd interject that info, because if I'm on the couch watching tv or reading and I fall asleep that way (supine) then wholly cow it's apnea city!
