I took the plunge and purchased a Bipap from grayghost

Post by araris » Fri Feb 13, 2015 11:35 am

I really hope that this will allow me to feel 100% again and not have any aerophagia anymore.

Now I'll be waiting anxiously for it to get here and praying that this is the magic bullet.

thanks GrayGhost.

Does Bipap take a little getting used to like cpap did?

I bought an auto machine for my husband to titrate and use. Then I bought a bipap for me to use as backup and travel machine. He had aerophagia with the auto so I used it to determine pressure and now guess who is sleeping well with my bipap.

Haha. That's funny.

I'm really excited about this. I hope this works. If it does I'll have three fairly new machines. a cpap, an apap, and a bipap.

Yup, it takes some getting used to. I bought my bi level from ghost, as well. And have been picking palerider's brain to figure a good base setting. So far, so good! Can't forget Pugsy, either. Her advice and assistance has been invaluable. And I'd like to thank my uncle Suzi...and...lol

I use a pressure of 13. Didn't feel like the last pressure nudge upward gave me any problems tolerating the air as far as breathing goes, but began getting air in the belly. Didn't cross my mind to try a bipap since my pressure isn't extremely high. well, a few months ago I was given an almost new bipap and was surprised to find my belly air issues were greatly improved on this machine. Not sure why, but that's how it turned out for me. Hope you get the same results.

I am so grateful for this board. I'm certain I will be picking their brains as well.

You got a great deal on the machine. Congrats.

I have an Auto BiPAP as well and started playing around with settings. Actually found pressures that worked great for me, then went on to continue experimenting until I managed to totally screw up my AHI. I went back to APAP for a few days, then returned to the BiPAP using the formerly good settings. The last 4-days my AHI has all been from 0.6-0.8, so it actually works better for me than APAP. It can take some playing around to get the good results.

When I went from Cpap to Bipap I was considerably more comfortable! Best wishes for positive results!

Bipap is different. I seem to sleep better on it. Don't know why. Sound is different from APAP. I used Julie's advise and place the unit on a mouse pad. No sound at all any more!!!!!! PR and Pugsy helped a great deal!
