F&P FlexiFit HC431 mask -- Any opinions?
F&P FlexiFit HC431 mask -- Any opinions?
Does the use of this mask eliminate the need for a separate
chin strap? With my current ResMed FF mask, if the chin strap
goes under the mask it leaks, if it goes over the mask, it pushes
the mask up and rubs my cheek and nose bridge raw by morning.
Looking for alternatives. Thanks

I'm not sure I understand why you need a chin strap with a FF mask. I was under the impression they were largely for keeping your (not you specifically) big mouth shut when on a nasal mask.
Liam, who may be projecting his own mouth on others.
Or
Liam, whose wife insists this closing line should say something about a "strap on".

I have heard good things about that full face mask. You shouldn't need a chin strap with that mask because unlike the ResMed ff mask the Fisher Paykel incorporates the chin into the mask. The bottem of the mask should go just under your chin instead of between the bottem lip and the chin like the ResMed.

I have this mask and wear it almost every night. I suffer from mouth leaks.
I tried chin straps, taped my mouth, and modified a sports mouth piece to hold up my tounge. This mask solved the problem. I have never used any other mask--my other one is a breeeze. The swivel does make some noise. The exaust is noisey especially if the humidifier is too high, but it will not move my wifes pillow if I happen to turn toward her like my breeze does . I may try a Mirage FF next time, but for now this works and I am happy.

I concur totally with your assesment. I bought one,(and it is very expensive) and it is just collecting dust somewhere. It is too noisy to use!!!! Unless you are deaf I wouldn't touch it at all.Anonymous wrote:I had a HC 431. All I can say is avoid it at all costs. Its very LOUD. It is cheaply made compared to a Resmed mask. The swivil squeaks when it turns and it is hard to turn.
Just save yourself some heartache. Don't buy it.
Do a search . There was a lengthly post on it .
Cheers,

Google it, there are a lot of people finding problems with this mask, especially at higher pressures. Also it has a valve that works as a one way that won't work with an Auto (rememeber reading that someone had a Remstar auto and it recorded nothing for the entire evening.)Anonymous wrote:I concur totally with your assesment.
