Hi all.
I use the Climateline hose with my S9 VPAP with the humidity set to the manual setting so that I can control the heat and humidity independently. I usually seem to do best with a middling humidity setting and a low temperature setting (70-74). Lately however, due to the house being so dry, I've been trying to push the humidity up to the highest setting (6.0). This causes rainout.
Would a hose cover help with the rainout in this situation? Even though the hose itself is already heated to some extent?
Thanks

Re: Climate line and hose cover?
In my experience the hose cover can exacerbate a rainout problem. It seems that by adding a hose cover the Climateline isn't exposed to the actual temperature differential. This prevents it from helping the air modify in relation to the environment. The problem occurs when the humidified air reaches the uninsulated portion of the hose near the mask. I've found that I have to reduce the humidity setting about 50% lower than normal when I use the hose cover. It would appear that the hose covers are better suited for use with a conventional hose.

Re: Climate line and hose cover?
That's why I use the automatic setting. No need to fiddle around with setting humidity an tempearture separately and hoping you don't get a rainstorm. I've used a flannel cover for 4 years without any problem. it's much more comfortable to sleep with than a sticky rubbery hose.
