Can an SD card be used to change settings remotely?

Post by englandsf » Fri Dec 12, 2014 12:39 pm

Having been "slammed" for suggesting that it is NOT possible to change a machines settings using an SD card inserted after being altered in some way remotely I have come to doubt my own sanity. Is it actually possible?

I didn't mean "slam" you.
I thought I was being nice...didn't mean to be ugly at all.
Let me see if I can find you some proof. May take me a bit as I have some other irons in the fire.

It wasn't you! And I appear to be wrong. No need to proof.

Edit.....It wasn't me? I didn't know anyone else said anything. but then I haven't had time to sort through all the threads yest this morning. Anyway...I already went to the trouble to find the proof so I will go ahead and post this in case someone else wants proof. I didn't dig real deep as to what all can be done but I think the changes can be a one time only or something that will over ride anything a patient might change.

With ResScan open go to the Help section and then down to the "settings" and you get this
and then if you meander through all the help links you find more information.
Especially the "Change Settings" sub menu on the left. Go there and scroll down for what all is involved.
Click on image to enlarge for better reading. I am practicing something to better show the images. This is a good test.

One side note about changing settings with ResScan . It seems to clear out all your recorded data when you modify the settings. Always make copy the SD card on your computer before doing anything with the settings.

Yes you can change a pressure with a data card. Respironics tend to be more finicky when done via the card.

The slam was sent privately and was not PR.
