Fairly new to Cpap, a couple of questions

Post by njean » Thu Dec 11, 2014 9:04 am

I have been using Cpap for almost 2 months now. At first I used everything as it came (Quattro Air mask, slimline hose). I was having some issues with markings on my face, so I got a Pad-a-cheek liner for my mask. The past couple of nights my fiance commented that something from the machine/mask/hose was loud and sounded like a cat meowing. Last night I tried again without the liner and he said he didn't hear any noises, but now my nose is almost raw feeling and I woke up a couple of times from air leaking towards my eyes.

1. Is this a headgear adjustment issue or most likely something else?
2. Is there something else I could do to lessen leaks and not end up with a sore face in the morning?
3. Any suggestions for a newbie????

I have tried calling my DME and they said they can't give me a different mask because it has been more than 1 month.

Check out my fitting tips in my blog below in "taming the mirage Quattro". The headgear loosens over time and needs readjustment. O

Would the fitting for the Quattro Air be similar to the Mirage Quattro? I see some similarities between them, but they appear to be very different masks.

If last night was my first night with this mask, I would have said screw it and gave up. The skin on my nose has been so sore all day and I am actually dreading using the mask tonight because of it.
