Hi, Everyone.
I haven't posted in a while. I use a ResMed Swift FX mask that I like a lot and sleep well with it, but my wife frequently complains a whistling noise when I'm using it. She says it doesn't make the noise all the time. Usually it is just a small sound she hears with my breathing and it is fine, but when it whistles she gets upset and can't sleep. I can't find the source of the whistling and have been unable to resolve the issue as a result. I really don't want to get a new mask as I really like this one, but I need to resolve this problem.
Any ideas? Anyone have experience with this? I would appreciate some help with this.

Re: Resmed Swift FX - whistling noise
I had the Swift FX nasal pillow whistle when the nasal pillow wasn't quite seated properly. Usually a quit refit would fix it. It was enough to keep me awake....have no idea if it ever happened when asleep.
Someone else mentioned that there was a whistling if the vent holes were maybe blocked with moisture.
Maybe try a different size nasal pillow????
Maybe try cleaning out the vent holes and make sure they are totally dry???
Maybe try a new nasal pillow???
In my case it was directly related to the seal or fit.
Make sure the inner cones haven't collapsed....stick your little finger up through the big hole where it attaches to the short hose and push upwards through the cones to make sure that inner cone is up near the opening that goes into the nostril.

I had one that was getting leaky and making noises that bugged me (the boyfriend didn't notice, doubtless his snores drown out the noises). I soaked the pillow in hot soapy water (tap hot), til it cooled a bit. Problem solved, and the pillow smelled pretty.

If you use too small a pillow it sometime makes a noise .... also the pillow has two seals and inner and an outer .... if the inner gets doubled back inside it will whistle ... a squeeze at the base will usually pop it back in place and cure the noise
If you're not part of the solution you're just scumming up the bottom of the beaker!
