New noise from my machine

Post by SmoothieMom » Mon Jun 30, 2014 8:33 am

Starting 2 nights ago, a quiet, yet high pitch tone has come out of my machine. My machine used to be silent, and I've had it for about 2 months. It is slightly less when I exhale and but is right back when I inhale or hold my breath. I've changed the filter, looked inside through the back hole, and finally told it to be quiet. Nothing worked. Is there something else to do, is this a know issue, or should I just call my DME and hope to get a callback.

Hi,
I have REMStar Pro C-flex+ and use it over 3 years. Today, machine starts generate high pitch tone (something like a high-speed rotary turbine sound). Did you resolve your problem?

I will call to service tomorrow, but I want to know something about it from other users. The unit had 2-years warranty, and I used it everyday over 3 years. The 3-year lifetime is minimum requirement for DME.

I have the same machine, and sometimes it does seem to generate a high pitched noise. Although in my case it is when I exhale and have the CFLEX/AFLEX setting at 2. You seem to describe the exact opposite. Without knowing the internals of the machine, I would guess that the machine has developed a leak, and will require service.
