Sleepyhead software/SD card -How to protect from overwrite?

I would like to install the Sleepyhead software, but I thought I saw somewhere here that I need to make sure the SD card is write protected (I think that was the term). I just want to make sure that I don't overwrite the data on it. How do I make sure the SD card is protected from me messing it up?

Unrelated note about my username: I am currently tornadosirl, but it is a typo. I meant to make it tornadosgirl. I had a dog, now passed, named Tornado. Can't figure out how to change it now.....

Use the write protect switch on the SD card. Test to see if you can write to it when it is locked. Not all readers honor the switch.

Not sure of this forum but most won't let you change the username once created. You either need to have a forum admin do that, or just create a new account using the correct name and stop using the old one. You might be able to just delete the account.
