hybrid mask? does anyone use it or have luck with it?

has anyone in this forum had luck with this mask? i got the mask last night it was very appealing to me. i fit it to my face(which was vvery frustrating) and layed down with it on. it leaked and was very noisy so i tightened it up to stop the leaks it was too tight by then & still noisy. put back on my mirage swift and went to sleep. im going to attempt a refit tonight with a smaller mouthpiece and try again. my pressure is 15cm - could be the problem. im getting tired of waking up with drymouth and cant wear a chinstrap.
any way if i have no luck with it tonight i will probably give up on this one- another $175 down the toilet! it may be back on the market tommorrow. i'll keep posting.

there's more than a few Hybrid wearers here.
i'm one and I'm having a good result so far. great to not need tape anymore. the mask does not fit everyone but most seem to like it.

There is about a gazillion recent posts on the Hybrid, tips, tricks, good, bad and indifferent experience.

I would recommend a search on the term and read what pops up. It will answer most, if not all, of your questions.

The medium mouthpiece with the large pillow set is working very well for me.
However, it did not fit until I cut off the chin flap. Cutting off the chin flap makes it, cooler, lighter. and it will fit more faces.

I found the cheek-to-cheek curve of the Hybrid is critical to getting a good fit. Don't be afraid to use Moleskin or whatever to make it work, its worth the extra effort....

I have been using the Hybrid for a week now and have had mixed results. When I can get it to seal it works great, but when it decides to leak, it is a mess. I have had some of the same problems with getting a good seal on the corners. I have removed the chin strap and that helped, but it still seems to be picky. It will seal up and run for a few hours then start to leak and no matter what it won't stop.

I keep trying to get this to work though

Try reducing your humidifier heat a notch.

I am finding that the medium cushion curves too much for me. I am always trying to push it flatter. I tied a pantyhose strap across the middle of the mask to flatten it and while that worked, it also pushed the nasal pillows halfway into my brain and really hurt. So my question to "guest" is: what do you with the moleskin to change the cheek-to-cheek curve? Do you put the moleskin on the seal? On your face? Where? What do you do?

Sorry, I forgot to log in. I think most of 'Guest' posts above are mine. Unless they offended you, then I don't know who the 'guest' is...

Maryb - Yes the large is must flatter than the medium (like sidesleeper said). But with any mask, you can use Moleskin to close the leaky gaps.
Moleskin is applied adhesive side to the mask seal, not your face.
