I am sorry about your loss. I know you are probably feeling guilt-ridden, but as someone said, you have to take care of yourself first if you''re going to be able to take care of someone else. I too put off calling back or checking on my mother at times, and then I finally do get back with her and am relieved that she is okay. The truth is you can't put all that burden and subsequent guilt on yourself and by keeping in mind all the good things you did for your father, you can put this all in retrospect.

And, yes, it is a reminder to all of us not to let those we love avoid getting therapy and treatment for their apnea or whatever other problem they may be suffering from.

I'm so sorry to hear about your too recent loss. I can really sympathize...my father was a big snorer, could keep a whole house full of family awake. I'm pretty sure from my experiences that he had undiagnosed sleep apnea, and it really shortened his life. A loss to his whole family. That is what is at risk for sleep apnea that's untreated, your family and friends will miss you dearly if you don't take care of business. Or if you know someone that seems to be suffering from sleep apnea, a sleep study is a strange experience, but not as bad the alternative for all concerned.

Big, long, sympathetic hug!

I'm very sorry about your lost RicaLynn. Don't blame yourself things happens as it happens and we can't change it you know.

Although it is sad to loss a love one it is more sad still to see them consume slowly, I saw a dear friend waste away for 3 years it was so sad each time I visited her it broke my heart repeatedly. You can remember your dad in a happy way and he surely didn't suffer what it implies to fade as most do.

Hugs

Rosie

I am so sorry for your loss. {{{ Hugs}}}

I am also my parents caretaker and I know how badly we need that time to ourselves to keep our batteries charged. Take care of your self.

And yes I get the black humour - we do it too. Only by laughing at our situation can we get a handle on our feeling and the stress.

I'm very sorry about your father. Time will help with the grief and the guilt, and remembering happy times will too. It seems you're regaining perspective, and any kind of humor is good to ease your heart. Reach out to those you love and who love you. Keep focused on the positive and don't forget to take care of yourself!
