A lot of drapes claim "black out". But don't even come close. That's why a felt shop works well. They have every fabric imaginable. And they cut to fit.
You won't be disappointed.

I found blackout drapery fabric at Jo-Ann's. I'm planning to use some to line the dust cover
I plan to make for my Airsense10. I've seen enough ugly yellow plastic on old computer equipment.
UV protection, anyone?

Re: sleeping under the blanket with CPAP>?
Last winter it got cold and I slept with my head under the covers for a month or two. Naturally, I was using my CPAP which certainly does provide a separate oxygen source. I had no problems, no shortness of breath, no headaches or lethargy in the mornings. That being said, If the power goes out at your house then that might be a problem with your head under the covers, mostly recycling CO2 thru your mask. I'm glad the topic came up because I actually never thought of that.
For safety's sake, I think this winter I will use a portable electric heater in my room tho I really hate the constant cycling of the on and off modes.

I like my ResMed AirFit F10 FFM - reasonably low leaks for my ASV therapy. I'm currently using a PR S1 AutoSV 960P Advanced. I also keep a ResMed S9 Adapt as backup. I use a heated Hibernite hose. Still rockin' with Win 7 by using GWX to stop Win 10.

Did someone suggest eye shades and I missed it? The kind airlines give away in the big seats?

Re: sleeping under the blanket with CPAP>?
Considering the OP probably doesn't have a lot of space above their full face mask - here's an eye shield called Onyix that I use every night. It has a very narrow bridge part that might fit over the top of the mask. It does on my FFM. This mask keeps moisture in and light out, plus it helps prevent small mask leaks from getting into your eyes. They aren't cheap but they get the job done and last a long time:englandsf wrote:Did someone suggest eye shades and I missed it? The kind airlines give away in the big seats?

just use a black sock threaded between the mask and your nose and tuck the ends under the straps.<Removed by Admin> wrote:my ffm doesn't allow for itenglandsf wrote:Did someone suggest eye shades and I missed it? The kind airlines give away in the big seats?

Re: sleeping under the blanket with CPAP>?
I think every CPAPer should have a power-off alarm in the bedroom. Some members recommended a cheap one which I bought a couple of years ago. Power has gone off twice and the alarm (unpleasantly) awakened me both times.Sir NoddinOff wrote:If the power goes out at your house

Re: sleeping under the blanket with CPAP>?
There is no way I would be able to sleep through a power outage. Even the hose coming off the mask will wake me up almost instantly.

Re: sleeping under the blanket with CPAP>?
The air that vents out the mask is just going to circulate around under the blanket as long as you don't block the vent holes on your mask. Presumably your covers are not airtight, so the CO2 has plenty of opportunity to dissipate. The air you're breathing in comes from the inlet of the CPAP machine, which is outside of the blankets.
That's why they call it a "Bed Snorkel"
I like sleeping with my head under the covers in the summer when the mosquitos are buzzing about--there's always ONE that gets in my room! Before CPAP I couldn't stand to have my nose covered, which always left an eye out for the mosquitos--apparently eyelids are particularly yummy to mosquitos. I'd wake up with one eye swollen shut! Now I just hunker down under the covers, breathing nice, fresh air.
