What's that other port for on my AirSense 10?
What's that other port for on my AirSense 10?
On the side of the A10 there are two little doors. The top one has the SD card behind it. There is another door/slot combination right below it, that's empty. The slot looks a little thicker than the SD card slot, but shorter. It's not a usb slot -- those are even thicker and shorter and have a plug assembly inside. I looked at the product description on the resmed site, but couldn't find any mention of it. Does anybody know what the connector is and can I plug anything useful into it?

I suspect that is probably for the Oxygen sensor thingy to be plugged in that you can use to get O2 reports incorporated into your ResScan reports. Last I heard between what all is needed...maybe around a $1,000.
I know the S9s had it available and I suspect the AirSense probably does as well.

hrmph, I was just going to point to page 2 and 3 of the clinicians manual.
"oximeter adapter"
"usb adapter"
and "adapter cover".

Hey, cool! Thanks everybody...
I am one of those people who didn't have a ridiculous AHI (somewhere in the 8-11 range for the ApneaLink, and 15 for the sleep lab study), but my desats were 79% and 80% respectively. So maybe I should ask if at some point they should measure my oxygen levels -- all this stuff is about engineering good sleep and good oxygen levels during sleep, but occasionally you should measure the oxygen levels directly, right? And it's good to know that my machine is ready to go...

Just use Sleepyhead and one of the compatible oximeters.
Software--free; oximeter--maybe a c-note.

You can ask your DME if they would give you an overnight pulse oximeter to evaluate your O2 levels.
Or you can buy your own and do it yourself and have it always available for spot checking.
They make special pulse oximeters that will record over night continuously. DMEs have them.
Or you can buy one for anywhere between $50 and $120 depending on how fancy you get.
Just make sure it records overnight.
Here's where I bought mine but they can be found on EBay from China for a little less.

If you are only one time curious...using the DMEs would be sufficient
If you think you might want to verify more than one time curious..you might consider buying your own.
The CMS pulse oximeters will work with Sleepyhead.
