Because, at this point, the southern border is where most of the people carrying Enterovirus D68 (also known as EV-D68) are coming from.
I presume you mean the southern border of wyoming, cuz you're a long way away from the southen border of the US.
But, "historically", Wyoming (territory) used to be part of Mexico.
well, it would be easier to block off the southern border of mexico... it's much smaller

No argument there. The infected people are supposedly coming up from Central America.
I've actually had a "better" idea for years........the U.S. could just annex Mexico. That would solve some of the "illegal" problems.
Maybe we could also annex Canada while we're at it.

If annexation is the game, I'd prefer Canada annexed the US, rather than the other way around.

Considering the current administrations of both countries.........I totally agree with you!

But if they did that, what would happen to Mexico? Without being able to import all of those American guns, the poor Mexicans would just.....ummmmm .... die.

What happened to "NAFTA"? The XPAP sellers in the U.S. can't ship to Canada......or anywhere else outside of our borders.

The U.S. government was (probably) the biggest seller of firearms to Mexico.......which probably caused many deaths on both sides of the border (by being used by the "bad" guys).

Great, because someone considered right of center in Canada would be considered left of center in the US. Things could only get better. And on that happy note I am off to bed...

The problem here is that most of the politicians are "bought and paid for" by special interest groups. Some of which contribute to BOTH parties. There is NO representation OF, BY or FOR the peoples' interests anymore (if there ever was).
I really don't think there is any "left" or "right" of center. Most are only interested in either obtaining or keeping control of "power". The growth of government is like a snowball rolling downhill.......at some point it becomes all consuming.

G' night. We'll leave the light on for ya.

I don't think Canada could afford our welfare, they can't print money as fast as the U. S. Can.

We could always use my plan, I thought of in Viet Nam to end the war. Nuke the DMZ with 105mm nuke shells so hard it would glow. The Mexican border could do the same. We could use our coast guard to patrol our 6 mile limit, instead of saving dumbies in a bubble boat 55 miles off shore.

Canada took over our Medical system, we both would have to go to India for MRI, and Cat Scans, they wait would bd too long otherwise. Jim

Thank you for clearing that up. All this time I thought the banking scandal had been caused by bankers making countless loans to people who couldn't afford them. Now I see it was the SEC's fault. This will make family reunions so much more pleasant, because my mother used to be a bank teller, and she was getting sick of me blaming the whole thing on her.
The sec was aware of the inflated assets that were being carried by the banks. The SEC was also aware of the mortgage trading; in fact some of the issue “paper” needed SEC submission. The banks’ loss ratios were entirely missing from their reporting. The stock prices were not reflecting reality at all. Yes the SEC has its share of blame. Then again are you referring to the large bonuses that the CEOs were putting in their pockets?

You have it backwards. The problem is not that lobbyists "buy" elected officials. The problem is that elected officials "sell" themselves to lobbyists and other special interests.

If you go further, the real problem is that the people elect these politicians and keep electing them - 90+% of incumbents are reelected.

There is an alternative, but apparently the people want to keep electing the same sorry-ass Republicans and Democrats.

Exactly DD. By the way, what is it with folks who have sleepy as part of their ID? I was attacked by sleepy1235 in another thread because I had the nerve to politely disagree with him on an issue and now this dude does the same thing to other folks who did nothing to deserve that type of response from him.
