Almost any UL listed extension chord should work well with this low amp requirement, providing that you don't use a cord half a mile long.
Good point...

We should point out for those who will be using a battery that using a heated tube or humidifier will quickly decrease the time the battery will last. Most will use the humidifier in the passover mode when on battery power.

Thanks for everyone's suggestions. On another note, does anyone know what battery I would buy for a Respironics REMstar System One cpap? On the sticker it says :

REMstar
REF 150P
Use only with power supply REF 1058190

I tried searching online but couldn't find one. Thanks very much.

That Ref 1058190 is for the AC power supply. To run on DC power you would need to get a DC power cord. Both are available at cpap dot com

Thanks, Guest. I mean I need a battery pack so I can camp with the brick. I'm pretty sure this is an older System One and not sure there is a battery pack available for one so old.

Slight but important point here. The amps mentioned above is when using 120V AC.
When using 12V DC the current needed will increase to 5A & 6.7A.

Certainly you can buy a battery pack but I'm not so sure you will want one once you see the prices. Cpap dot com has everything you will need.

Let me point out something many may not realize when using battery backups, such as jumpstarters, car batteries, etc.

If your machine will operate on twelve volts, use the twelve volts from the battery! Do not use an inverter to bring up the voltage, so you can plug in the power supply which converts it back to twelve volts! Inverters, and power supplies are power wasting monsters, due to something called eddy currents. This is why they get warm when operating... heat is wasted power! You will get much more time out of the battery running straight twelve volts, than if you raise the voltage, just to bring it back down to your machines operation voltage.

I know this is obvious to some users, but if you have little knowledge of electricity, this might be something didn't know...

I did mention it earlier but you made the point much clearer, I hope

The machine will run longer on 12V than it will on an inverter because of the power wasted doing the conversion.
