Hair Loss and the Breeze

Post by VancouverBreeze » Sat Feb 19, 2005 3:16 am

Hi All,

Ok...I've been using CPAP for a about 220 hours now. It's been great, and no major issues with getting used to it, and I'm feeling better these days.

I was diagnosed with 'severe' apnea, and considering the risks and the simple fact I'm feeling good, obviously want and need to use the CPAP. (':D')

BUT!(':x')

I'm only 30, and genetics has gifted me with Apnea and fragile follicles! Yes, ok...the inevitable is coming....BUT the breeze is making it come quicker. The forward 'wing-like' contact points on the headgear are creating a nice bald imprint of the mask...so I can advertise my breeze headgear during the day I suppose...

Does anyone know of a nasal pillow system similar to breeze (works perfectly for me in all respects except the hair problem) that does not contact the head? (obviously straps and the back part of the gear will contact my head)

Thanks in advance for the replies!

And for anyone getting used to wearing nasal pillows....KY Jelly!!('')

Thanks!

Darren

Darren, take a look at ResMed's Swift. you might advertise the Nike "swoosh" mark on the side of your face for awhile, but it will leave the front of your head alone. What a funny story you told!

Easy for me to say "funny", since I'm not the one becoming follicularly challenged.

Or....at least I don't think I am....hmmm...

Hi Darren,

I am a dented hair breeze user. I know what you mean.

The Puritan Bennett Adam Curcuit is a nasal pillow mask like your breeze but the headgear is made of neoprene and doesn't dent your hair.

Try the Nasal Aire II, no contact with hair at all, if you use it like I do, without the harness; just the short strap across the back of the head.
